The new shaving brush
New shaving brushes may have a slight aroma because they are made from natural materials and are treated with a preservative.
You can easily get rid of the aroma by washing out your shaving brush in a lukewarm soapy solution before using it for the first time.
You should avoid the use of strong cleaning agents and agents that contain sodium carbonate as they will harm the hairs of your shaving brush.
The Use of your shaving brush
Only press your shaving brush lightly onto the soap in circular movements to obtain a good foam for your shave. This is particularly important when you are using a pure badger hair shaving brush.
Wash out your shaving brush after using it in water that is not too hot.
The shaving brush should then be hung up headfirst so that the rest of the water can drain off well. We have developed a shaving brush holder extra for this purpose.
Never store a damp shaving brush in a closed container as it might destroy the hair.
